Leather Work

Leather Armor:

After working on She Kills Monsters, I wanted to work with more leather. I have been teaching myself more about working with leather. through out the years.

I started by making the pauldrons and hammering the design. I used a set of bracers I had previously made and re painted them to match my knife sheath (below).  For the breastplate, I had my friend help me saran wrap and duck tape my chest, marking center front, center back, shoulder seams, and sides so that I could draw my pattern for the breastplate on a form that was exact to my body. I then cut out and transferred these pieces to paper.  I used my dress form to wet form the leather to the shape of a body.

Leather Knife Sheath:

During my last season at the ASC, the costume designer taught me how to make a knife sheath for my personal knife during our downtime.
